General Notes

The Department of Neurology at the Dell Medical School is looking for a Clinical Research Associate I.

One-year fixed term with possibility of continuation based on performance and available grant funding.   

The position is primarily on site with flexibility for remote work as duties permit.

Purpose

Clinical Research associate position to assist PI, Dr. Chang to conduct funded clinical research studies.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit potential research subjects, complete screening and informed consent processes and data collection procedures.

  • Monitor recruitment at all study sites and adherence to procedures/protocols to ensure optimal subject participation rates and accurate data collection and reporting.

  • Develop and maintain timelines in coordination with PIs.

  • Collaborate with PIs and project investigators to prepare methodological notes, reports, presentations and other dissemination activities related to the project activities.

  • Assist in training project staff and research assistants who may be helping with data collection.

  • Help to facilitate project collaborations and team work.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Basic engineering and/or scientific equipment ordinarily used in college laboratory work. A successful candidate will have the ability to communicate with others in a clear, understandable and professional manner on the phone and in person; demonstrate use of good written and verbal communication skills;  possess effective project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize and schedule work in an efficient and productive manner, focusing on key priorities and meeting deadlines; possess great attention to detail and effective follow-through; have initiative to complete tasks before being asked and be able to independently manage studies, as well as have ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various delicate, formal or urgent situations; be flexible and adaptable to change. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with research subject recruitment and data management in clinical health research. Experience with older adults with cognitive impairment. Spanish speaker.

Salary Range

$40,000+ depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished).

  • May work around standard office conditions.

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

  • Use of manual dexterity.

  • Occasional weekend, overtime and evening work to meet deadlines.
