Your Career

Palo Alto Networks's SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) group is looking for a seasoned and accomplished engineer with experience in developing cloud distributed applications to fill a technical leadership position in the SD WAN team. You will be part of a world-class software engineering team that works on various ground-breaking technologies in the SD WAN area. You will work with a multi-functional team of engineers to design and develop systems  for solving interesting problems in SDWAN area. 

Our engineering team is at the core of SD WAN products – connected directly to the mission of providing world class SASE solutions. We are constantly innovating – challenging the way we, and the industry, think about SD WAN. Our engineers don’t shy away from building products to solve problems no one has pursued before.

Your Impact

• Work in a small and fast paced team to solve important customer problems and deliver most impactful results.
• Contribute in all phases of the product development cycle, from definition, design, through implementation and test
• Proactively identify product features for improvement and innovation
• Innovate new product features based on customer feedback
• Developing distributed applications that use messaging infrastructures and experience working with them is a plus.

Qualifications

Experience:

• 12+ years of experience, with a BS or MS degree, developing large scale distributed applications using service-oriented architectures. 
• Strong experience in developing Python and Java based micro services using REST APIs. 
• Experience developing applications with a DB, especially MongoDB with appropriate drivers and abstraction layers. 
• Experience developing appropriate caching layers for scale and performance of database systems. 
• Experience developing distributed applications that use messaging infrastructures like Kafka. 
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, like AWS/GCP, is a plus.
• Good understanding of data processing pipeline designs – including ingestion, ETL, queries, query optimizations, large scale storage is a plus. 
• Experience with building and running containerized applications in distributed environments like Kubernetes is a plus. 
• Strong passion and experience in troubleshooting, debugging complex systems and possess excellent problem-solving techniques.
