ABOUT THIS ROLE
The company is seeking an innovative and visionary Sr. Director to define and drive the strategy, governance, and execution of the organization’s data initiatives. This role will oversee a team of data engineers, analysts, and scientists responsible for managing, analyzing, and leveraging data to deliver actionable insights and drive business growth.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities and technical expertise across key tools, including Snowflake, Tableau, Databricks, Fivetran, and Looker, ensuring data reliability, scalability, and accessibility for all business units.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Strategy and Governance:
- Define and implement the organization’s data strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and strategic goals.
- Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, security, compliance, and accessibility across all systems.
- Promote data-driven decision-making by creating a single source of truth and democratizing data across the organization.
Data Architecture and Optimization:
- Oversee the design, development, and optimization of the company’s data infrastructure, including Snowflake, Databricks, and Fivetran, to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Ensure seamless integration of data across platforms and business units, creating a unified and scalable data ecosystem.
- Drive the adoption of modern data architecture practices, including data lakes, warehouses, and pipelines, to enable real-time analytics and reporting.
Analytics and Insights:
- Lead the development and delivery of dashboards, reports, and predictive models using tools such as Tableau and Looker to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data needs, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights that drive performance and innovation.
- Foster a culture of experimentation and innovation, leveraging data to identify new opportunities and solve complex business challenges.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary data team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Set clear objectives, establish performance metrics, and provide regular feedback to ensure team success.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team, championing a culture of belonging and respect.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with technology vendors and partners to optimize the use of platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, Tableau, Fivetran, and Looker.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prioritize data initiatives, resolve challenges, and align efforts with business goals.
Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Snowflake, Tableau) is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or related fields, including leadership roles.
- Deep expertise in data architecture, pipelines, and analytics platforms, including Snowflake, Databricks, Tableau, Fivetran, and Looker.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering data-driven strategies and solutions that drive business value.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire, develop, and retain top talent.
- Comprehensive understanding of data governance, compliance, and security best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think analytically, solve complex problems, and drive continuous improvement.
- Experience managing budgets, negotiating contracts, and optimizing resource allocation to maximize ROI
