About the Role
The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of clinical service delivery across the organization. This role ensures the highest standards of patient care, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and clinical quality. The Director will work closely with the Executive Leadership team to implement and provide oversight of clinical operations. The Director will develop clinical protocols and implement process improvements to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all clinical operations across sites or departments.
- Oversee daily clinical workflows, staffing, and service delivery to ensure optimal patient care and provider efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Partner with medical leadership to ensure integration of best practices and evidence-based care models.
- Collaborate with administrative leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation for clinical services.
- Lead initiatives to improve quality, patient safety, satisfaction, and outcomes.
- Support recruitment, training, evaluating, and retaining high-performing clinical staff including nurses, medical assistants, and allied health professionals.
- Support clinical performance improvement initiatives, including data collection, analysis, and reporting on KPIs.
- Serve as a liaison between clinical teams and executive leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Coordinate accreditation and certification processes as required.
- Monitor patient flow, scheduling, and staffing to maximize provider productivity and reduce patient wait times.
- Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives, using data to identify gaps, implement solutions, and track outcomes.
- Manage clinical budgets, staffing models, and resource allocation to maintain cost-effective operations.
- Partner with IT and EHR teams to optimize clinical documentation, reporting, and data analytics.
- Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and executive leadership, communicating challenges and driving engagement.
- Adjusts schedules as needed during associates absences; monitors attendance.
- Prepares daily, weekly and monthly assignments in accordance with the policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain protocols for all office functions performed in site locations.
- Serves as a resource to all members of departments and ancillary sites as needed.
- Advise the Chief Operating Officer of any potential concerns/problems at any of the site locations of the practice.
- Maintain positive and professional attitude with all internal and external customers.
- Manage physician templates, schedules and staffing needs.
- Support provider on-call and after hour needs as they arise.
- Act as liaison between hospitals, surgery centers and other clinical/non-clinical facilities and partners and supporting patient, provider and Administration needs.
- Serve in various capacities on strategic planning teams and committees.
- Assist in scheduling medical students and residents to shadow with physicians as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

What We Expect from You
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Five plus years’ experience in the medical/clinical/hospital setting; previous management or leadership experience preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of medical credentialing and the provider enrollment process
- Requires project management skills
- Requires great attention to detail and organization
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with physicians, staff, leadership and external entities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, CAQH, various verification sites
- Reliability, ability to multi-task and provide high-level problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Plan, coordinate, implement services to support the medical providers
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work under pressure
