Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

Job Overview
Sitting within the Strategy & Transformation organization within Supply Chain & Operations, this role leads strategic planning and portfolio strategy. The Sr. Manager, Strategic Process partners with commercial, R&D, Supply Chain, and finance leaders to shape long‑range portfolio strategies, evaluate investment priorities, and translate market insights into actionable plans with associated trade-offs. This position plays a critical role in driving sustainable growth, competitive differentiation, margin expansion, and disciplined execution across a complex, global orthopedic portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the orchestration of franchise and portfolio strategy development activities, partnering closely with business and functional leaders to deliver actionable outputs, including long‑range portfolio plans (LRPP).
  • Understand the critical portfolio changes and moves and the implications for the business including profitability & cashflow
  • Responsible for the driving process integration and handoffs in key areas such as LRFP, LRPP, Strategic Capacity Management, and IBP 
  • Build strong relationships and act as a bridge between Supply Chain and Commercial Marketing, Commercial Finance, Platform Leadership, and external stakeholders to gather inputs, understand critical portfolio changes and align priorities.  
  • Develop and present insights and recommendations to senior leadership and cross‑functional governance forums.
  • Drive alignment between global strategy and regional execution, ensuring priorities translate into measurable outcomes.
  • Support annual strategic planning, operating plan, and budget cycles for assigned franchises.
  • Track performance against strategic objectives and identify corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications
Education
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Preferred: MBA or advanced degree in a related discipline.
Experience and Skills
Required:
  • Generally 8-10 years of progressive experience, or equivalent deep expert
