Summary of Job Duties:
The steepest healthcare workforce shortages in the State of Arkansas, especially in lower-income urban and rural areas, directly impact the delivery of essential health services to high-need communities. To address this dire healthcare workforce need, a statewide consortium of six of Arkansas’ public two-year institutions has been awarded $5.7 million for the Bridging Healthcare Workforce Shortages in Arkansas (BRIDGE-AR) initiative. BRIDGE-AR assembles a collaboration of employers, workforce organizations, and training providers to address essential local labor needs. The initiative’s strategies are designed to impact underserved communities, especially Black/African American and Hispanic/Latino in the Nursing and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) pathways. These occupations are primary labor needs in the state and provide career progression and family-sustaining wages in local communities.
