Job Description:

Microchip is seeking a reliable and safety-minded Box Truck Driver/Material Handler that is committed to providing exceptional transport, delivery and customer service. This role will primarily be in transportation but will also be participating in material handling and inventory management functions.

• Operations of a 20-foot box truck to transport products and materials. May also include hazardous materials. Travel will mostly be between our Microchip location in Beverly, MA and a 3rd party location in Manchester, NH but may include other localized travel or occasional travel to other Microchip locations in CT and PA.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and functionality, ensuring the completion of any documentation.
• Follow delivery schedules.
• Load and unload material from truck. Move materials within the warehouse, storage, or production areas. Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to prevent damage.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle / work environment.
• Communicate timely and effectively regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies.
• Other projects, duties, or cross-training responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• US Person (ITAR requirement).
• 3+ years of experience in driving / warehousing / shipping / receiving / distribution including knowledge of UPS and FedEx online shipping system.
• Experience in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Valid standard driver’s license (Class C) and clean driving record.
• Experience driving in inclement weather conditions.
• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50+ lbs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adhere to schedules, follow instructions and work independently.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
