JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Assoicate Product Line Manager to join our growing team.
The Opportunity
As an Associate Product Line Manager (APLM), you will be responsible for assisting the Product Line Manager in managing existing products, new product development, product line growth, and the day-to-day management of initiatives and features within the product lines that are manufactured at the various JELD-WEN facilities and used and purchased by the vendors and customers of JELD-WEN. You will work closely with team members of the marketing departments, sales, sales support, and operations to ensure continuity in product offering and company goals and objectives.This role will report to the Product Manager.
What You Will Do
- Assist and/or manage the entire product life cycle and become a subject matter expert in areas of ownership of said product the position is responsible for.
- Plan, lead, and actively manage the process of introducing new products to the market while developing marketing strategies for profitably gaining market share.
- Develop requirements for new products and changes for existing products based upon industry and market analysis, and coordinate same with operations.
- Collaborate in a cross functional environment with engineering, operations, reliability, and marketing communications to implement new product designs and features in a timely manner.
- Establish cost targets and participate in product pricing and sales forecasting.
- Recognize new business opportunities and lead effort to justify new investments.
- Work closely as directed with product sales on strategy and implementation.
- Provide business development support and technical expertise to Sales team.
- Conduct periodic competitive/market analysis and stay current with relevant technical changes in the industry. Perform competitive research to determine new market opportunities and positioning strategies.
- Work with the marketing team to develop marketing collateral materials.
- Interface regularly with PLM/Senior management for product line reviews.
- Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, including Reliability Managers and Continuous Improvement personnel on product integrity, sustainability, and efficiency, as assigned and directed by the PLM.
- Establish, monitor and report on key performance metrics to the organization and appropriate senior management on the assigned product line and individual product performance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Comply with all JELD-WEN corporate guidelines on marketing and business ethics.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business or a related field and three (3) to five (5) years relevant experience in product management required, preferably in the window and door industry.
- MBA is preferred but not required.
- Manufacturing experience strongly desired.
- Basic knowledge of continuous improvement techniques, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and SQDCI.
- Knowledge of business, finance and management principles.
- The ability to work under minimal supervision, and the ability to supervise, train and coach subordinate personnel.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and position applicable JELD-WEN software.
- Travel: 25% to 50%.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to collaborate with plant personnel in conjunction with corporate guidelines, policies, and procedures.
