What it is

We’re looking for a Director of People who will lead our People function as we grow into a Series B business. This role requires someone who can operate confidently at both the strategic and hands-on levels. The Director will lead the People function with a high degree of ownership — proposing, shaping, and rolling out the programs and infrastructure the business needs as we mature.

You’ll inherit a solid People foundation and build the next stage. You’ll directly manage a Senior Talent Partner and partner closely with our Administrative Manager, Finance, Founders, and other leaders across the company. This role reports to our COO & Co-Founder.

Success looks like strengthening our People infrastructure, shaping a connected company culture, proactively identifying organizational needs, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality employee experience across two entities and a blended workforce of 125+ people.

What you’ll do

  • Act as the primary strategic and operational People leader, owning People initiatives end-to-end.

  • Proactively identify People opportunities and gaps, and drive initiatives that support our evolution into a Series B organization.

  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning, emerging org design needs, and strengthening performance and leveling practices.

  • Build and evolve People structure, processes, and policies that scale with the company.

  • Lead People Operations across both entities: onboarding, offboarding, People administration, payroll coordination, and benefits.

  • Build strong relationships across our clinical, administrative, and technical teams, adapting People programs to fit the needs of each group.

  • Maintain our compliance foundation (multi-state employment, contractor/per diem oversight, leaves, labor requirements, audits).

  • Strengthen company culture by creating programs, rhythms, and touchpoints that help people stay connected and engaged.

  • Provide thoughtful support on employee relations matters, offering coaching and guidance to leaders.

  • Manage and develop the Senior Talent Partner; ensure recruiting operations run smoothly and remain candidate-friendly.

  • Own and optimize our People tech stack: Rippling (required), Ashby, Google Workspace, Slack, Vanta, Carta, and other internal tools.

  • Partner with our benefits broker (Sequoia) on strategy, renewals, and day-to-day needs.

What you’ll need

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of People leadership experience in high-growth environments.

  • Experience managing People teams and developing talent.

  • Strong People operations background with hands-on expertise.

  • Rippling experience (required).

  • Ability to support multi-state employment and navigate blended workforces (W2, 1099, per diem, clinicians).

  • Commitment to equitable people practices and creating an inclusive employee experience.

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate across time zones and functions.

  • Ability to work independently and manage sensitive matters with discretion.

  • Reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace.

  • Availability during core US business hours.

  • Adherence to company policies, data security standards, and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, telehealth, or regulated environments.

  • Experience supporting clinical or contractor-heavy workforces.

  • Experience at Series B–stage companies or those scaling rapidly.

  • Strong systems orientation and comfort owning technical workflows.
