What You’ll Do
We are seeking a Staff Software Java Engineer to join our Storage Software team. In this role, you will design and develop cutting-edge data center software technologies that leverage Samsung's memory innovations for deployment in both public and private cloud environments.
As a key member of the Storage Software team, you will be responsible for designing and developing software for a state-of-the-art distributed storage system. As a storage Unified Management developer, you will play a key role in the design, development and optimization of the management server within our distributed storage system. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our storage solutions deliver exceptional performance, scalability and reliability
The successful candidate must be a strong team player, have excellent communication skills and should have experience developing Linux-based highly available distributed systems, with a focus on performance and quality. This staff level senior role involves significant responsibility and requires creativity, leadership as well as passion to build high performance flash-based storage systems.
Location: Daily onsite presence in either or San Jose HQ location or Folsom office in alignment with our Flexible Work policy.
Reports to: Director, Software Development
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 10+ years experience, or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent and a minimum of 7+ years of experience developing enterprise software solutions in Java.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Java.
- Solid foundation in writing multi-threading application code following best practices.
- Experience with test automation: unit/integration testing.
- Strong experience with NoSQL databases, preferably MongoDB.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex performance issues and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing requirements and deadlines.
- Experience with Agile Development.
- Experience developing cluster management applications or with storage industry a plus.
- Familiarity with networking concepts a plus.
- An avid learner, you approach challenges with curiosity and resilience, seeking data to help build understanding.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
