Project Overview:
Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.
Job Summary:
The Field Technician supports the day-to-day operation, setup, and maintenance of Construction Automation systems on an assigned construction project. This role provides hands-on support for digital tools, workflows, and field-related technology used by construction, project controls, ES&H, commissioning, and other project teams. The Field Technician focuses on system setup, user support, troubleshooting, and maintaining reliable Construction Automation operations in an active construction environment. #LI-SM2
Major Responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of Construction Automation systems and tools in the field.
- Assist with system setup, configuration, and basic administration, including reports, user access, and security roles.
- Support deployment and setup of Construction Automation applications on mobile devices such as tablets, phones, and push-to-talk devices.
- Support the processing, quality checks, and publishing of visualization data collected from drones, mobile devices, and other site data capture sources.
- Monitor system usage and data quality and address routine issues impacting daily operations.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of software, device, and connectivity issues and escalate complex issues to the rest of the team.
- Provide day-to-day user support, including onboarding, basic training, and issue resolution for project teams and contractors.
- Work directly with field personnel to resolve issues and ensure effective use of Construction Automation tools.
- Follow approved Construction Automation standards, configurations, and procedures.
- Document common issues, resolutions, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience
