TITLE
Licensed Mental Health Clinician/Embedded (Housing) Texas Woman’s University Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Denton
JOB SUMMARY
This embedded position will provide comprehensive psychological services to a culturally diverse student population living in TWU residence halls. This is an 11- month position .Duties include individual and group therapy; crisis intervention; mental health coaching; preventative mental health outreach including workshops and presentations; student engagement activities; and training/consultation for Housing staff. This position may also perform clinical duties at CAPS as time permits. The individual in this position will serve on the Student Life Students of Concern committee in order to facilitate student follow up and referrals as needed. Serves as referral source for students seeking university and community resources. Work is performed under general supervision and performance evaluation is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Director, Counseling and Psychological Services
Supervises: Trainees as assigned
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following:
- Provides comprehensive psychological services with an emphasis on individual, couples and group therapy.
- Provides mental health coaching to residential students with a focus on brief interventions.
- Formulates diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Performs triage intake assessments.
- Oversees crisis intervention.
- Performs preventative mental health outreach programming aimed at addressing the unique needs of residential students.
- Provides consultation and training to Housing staff and students regarding mental health related concerns.
- Serves on the Student Life Students of Concern committee to facilitate student follow up and referrals as needed.
- Serves as referral source for students seeking university and community resources.
- Maintains up-to-date recordkeeping on clients using Titanium, CCAPS-62, and other web-based technologies.
- Follows policies and procedures to collect data and ensures data integrity to maintain accurate statistics on CAPS service utilization.
- Participates in designated assigned meetings in Housing and CAPS.
- Provides clinical supervision to psychology trainees as assigned.
- Works collaboratively across university departments to meet the needs of residential students.
- Researches residential student needs and develops and evaluates programs.
- Continues to maintain professional competencies through participation in professional organizations and through attendance at relevant conferences and workshops.
- Maintains licensure or works towards licensure in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates ability to be flexible and adapt to and manage ambiguous situations in order to best respond to residential student needs.
- Adheres to workplace safety policies and procedures.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Serves on campus wide activities as approved by the Director.
- Participates in Student Life Division activities.
- Performs other duties as requested.
