Equipment Technician - Surgical Services

Responsible for anticipating procedural needs, ensuring equipment is in proper working order, providing technical support, verifying proper disinfection, storage, and handling of equipment, verifying timely preventive maintenance assessments, and sending out OR- and specialty-specific equipment for repair including but not limited to OR beds, positioning devices, ultrasound, cryo, microscopes, lasers, robot, lead aprons, and video equipment and monitors. Responsible for cleaning and processing of endoscopes (colonoscopes, anesthesia intubation scopes, etc). Also functions as a liaison between department and outside vendors and repair services. Reports to OR management team.

• High school diploma or equivalent required. 
• Previous healthcare experience in clinical setting preferred. 
• Previous operating room/endoscopy experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of sterile environment and aseptic technique. 
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, competent computer skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficient verbal and written communication skills. 
• Able to function in both physically and mentally stressful conditions. 
• Able to flex work hours to meet scheduling demands of the department.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
