Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Development Manager to join our dynamic team. The Senior Development Manager will play a key role in the development and execution of renewable energy projects, with a focus on project management, permitting, and risk identification. This position requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the renewable energy industry.
Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Lead the development and execution of renewable energy projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and stakeholders to drive project progress and resolve issues as they arise.
- Implement project management best practices to optimize project performance and mitigate risks.
Permitting and Regulatory Compliance:
- Oversee the permitting process for renewable energy projects, including securing necessary approvals, permits, and licenses from regulatory agencies.
- Stay abreast of relevant environmental regulations, zoning ordinances, and permitting requirements to ensure project compliance.
- Work closely with regulatory agencies, consultants, and legal counsel to navigate permitting challenges and obtain necessary approvals in a timely manner.
Risk Identification and Mitigation:
- Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with renewable energy projects, including technical, financial, regulatory, and environmental risks.
- Develop risk management strategies and contingency plans to mitigate project risks and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and scenario analyses to anticipate and address potential challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders, including landowners, local communities, government officials, and environmental organizations.
- Communicate project goals, benefits, and impacts effectively to stakeholders and address any concerns or objections in a transparent and proactive manner.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for community engagement, local economic development, and environmental stewardship.
Location: Houston, TX, hybrid/ remote. Travel is frequent and up to 50% pending the circumstances or stage of the projects under management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, business administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on project management, permitting, and risk management.
