Performance Software & Solutions Leader

Description

Novaspect, Inc., an Emerson Impact Partner and AspenTech Implementation Service Provider, is currently offering an opportunity for a Performance Software & Solutions Leader to be part of our Process Systems & Solutions business unit. The Performance Solutions portfolio will be initially focused on five domains, which are Advanced Process Control, Alarm Management, High Performance Human Machine Interface, Simulation, and State Based Control with expectation that our Performance Solutions portfolio will evolve to include additional domains applying relevant Emerson, AspenTech, and/or 3rd Party software. 

The successful individual will also support Novaspect Core Values by promoting Emerson Automation Solutions, AspenTech, and other offerings to provide high quality solutions, develop and maintain processes that provide quality results, and recruit and develop engineering professionals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Business Strategy & Planning

• Maintain a high degree of industry knowledge and awareness, including trends, technology advancement, and significant accomplishments by others in the business, state of the competition, significant events related to our business and our clients’ business.
• Identify opportunities to work in additional Performance Solutions domains and compile justification for future investment.
• Develop the business plan, model, and metrics for each of the identified Performance Solutions domains, with accountability to meet the defined metrics.

Sales Engagement

• Work with proposal team (Proposal Owner, Services Owner, and BOM Owner) through proposal development and solution scoping/quoting, providing direction based off initial evaluated solution options for qualified Performance Solutions opportunities.
• Support sales in presenting solution proposals to potential clients.

Tools

• Develop appropriate quotation templates and estimation tools for each domain and train the proposal team on the use of the templates/tools.
• Develop hardware and software specification requirements and solutions for client applications.
• Define and provide development system equipment for engineering team to successfully deliver client solutions in each domain.

Training & Mentoring

• Mentor sales and engineering team members to help them develop appropriate skills term employment at Novaspect to promote and execute applicable solutions. 
• Develop training materials for the five domains listed above.

Execution & Liaison

• Support Front End Engineering Development (FEED) engagements and Solution deployments as required as a lead engineer and/or in support of lead engineers.
• Develop engineering personal with individual training plans for application and product knowledge in support of the domains.
• Develop two or more lead engineers in each of the domains.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

• B.S. degree in Engineering or technical discipline
• 7-10+ years of experience with automation solutions 
• 5+ years of experience in software sales for industrial plants
• 5+ years of leadership and/or management experience
• Significant DCS, PLC, SCADA, simulation, and project execution knowledge

• Desire for continual training and education 
• Travel to client facilities (up to 30%)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. (i.e., Workstation and Server Class Computers)
• Ability to work extended hours on a computer
• Ability to work in an industrial environment.

Location:

• Flexible within the Novaspect geography (North Central Midwest)

Pay:

• Cash compensation potential: $140-165K (base + bonus)
• Bonus eligible: 10%
