Position Summary:

This role is responsible for supporting the administration of daily laboratory operations by performing the following duties:

• Creating and managing purchase orders.
• Managing the receiving and inventory of supplies.
• Overseeing the supply of consumables at lab test workstations.
• Managing safety, biosecurity, and animal welfare training documentation.
• Managing equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Maintaining the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database.
• Processing incoming lab results and certifications.
• Maintaining distribution and contact lists.
• Performing routine office functions such as filing and phone activities.
• Assisting in media production and distribution, as well as other introductory lab processes as assigned.

Requirements:

• Education: Requires knowledge of high school subject matter such as mathematics, grammar, office equipment, and business practices. This knowledge is typically acquired through four years of high school, vocational school, or equivalent.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of related experience is required. Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new computer programs are essential.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
• Specialized Skills: The role involves variable work activities that require judgment to complete tasks such as setting priorities, evaluating results, and coordinating with others. A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently are required.
• Travel: None

​ Biosecurity:

• When visiting biosecure environments, showering before entering the facilities is required. The lab jobsite may also require showering when leaving the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsites except for medical ID jewelry. The candidate must sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds). The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times. Physical Requirements:
• Must use safe lifting techniques.
• While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk; hear; and visually inspect results.
• The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• While handling samples, nitrile gloves must be worn.
• The team member may be exposed to standard laboratory chemicals.
• Other Duties: Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
