About the role

We are looking for a talented General Management Intern to join our Summer Internship Program in Indianapolis, IN! 

 
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Identify new business opportunities, support and implement specific business development initiative and tactics within a given product segment, market, region, or channel.
  • Support the Distribution Business/Cummins Sales and Service’s strategy team by evaluating growth projects (Ideations, business case development, deep dive analysis, market research, functional support, etc.)
  • Gather and analyze data from marketing/market research, databases, etc. to support identification and prioritization of market and product segment opportunities.
  • Conduct customer or industry research on target accounts or customer segments, identify current challenges and emerging needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

To be successful in this role you will need the following: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, generating reports and ability to learn new systems required to do the job effectively.
  • Basic understanding of finance, project management, data analysis and marketing. Digital marketing/e-Commerce knowledge and/or experience preferred.
  • Ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, with the ability to effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner, take ownership and drive a project/task effectively and efficiently.
  • Please note, this is a hybrid position (minimum 1-2 days onsite at our Corporate Office in Columbus, IN.)
  • This is a Full-Time, Summer Internship position. The Program will start on June 2nd through August (flexible based on School schedule). The hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • Must be currently enrolled at a College or University, pursuing a degree in Marketing, Sales or Business Management.
