Our New Hudson, Michigan location has an amazing job opportunity opening for the Senior Mechanical Engineer reporting to the Director of Engineering. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will lead the design, development and analysis of new products and components along with its associated processes to ensure that they meet the specified performance requirements, quality, cost and timing.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead the development of product designs based on product performance goals, manufacturing process and assembly requirements
- Integrate electronic and sensors platforms into mechanical design via collaboration
with firmware and electrical engineers
- Optimize product performance using simulation tools (FEA, CFD), DOE, and rapid
prototyping
- Ensure product manufacturability and ease of assembly via stack-up analysis, GD&T,
simulation of assembly process and feedback from manufacturing partners
- Create 3D and 2D product designs using Creo
- Coordinate production trials with manufacturing engineers to ensure product
manufacturability
- Lead investigation and research into innovative design solutions to increase product
value or reduce cost
- Maintain project documentation per company requirements within PDM system
(Validation Plan, DFMEA, Test Reports, etc.)
- Review and approve documents within PDM system
- Execute engineering changes for existing products
- Maintain existing product documentations
- Lead product root cause analyses and corrective actions
- Improve and implement product development engineering processes to ensure on time
launch and product performance compliance
- Contribute towards development and attainment of departmental goals in process
improvements, compliance, product innovation and product benchmarking.
- Performs activities in a positive and professional manner.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering 5+ Years Engineering experience
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
- Organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.
- Proficient level experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong problem solving and detail orientated.
- Demonstrated experience with electronics and/or sensor integration into mechanical
designs
- Demonstrated knowledge of CAD software (CREO preferred)
- Expertise with at least one of the following manufacturing processes - Injection
- molding, die casting, machining and fabrication.
