Role overview

As a member of our Application Security team, the Application Security Engineer II provides operational & security expertise in driving technology strategies, implementing secure software development measures into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with software engineering teams to apply a shift-left security strategy in the development lifecycle. You will contribute to the Security program by performing reviews, security audits, and triaging discovered security vulnerabilities to the proper teams. 

You will have experience performing technical application threat analysis, threat modeling, defense in-depth strategies, security control gap analysis, and threat mitigation. You must have a pragmatic approach to risk management by striking a balance between the organization’s risk tolerance and the security of our customers, partners, and employees.

What you'll do

•    Support, consult and educate, product and development teams in the area of application security, including threat modeling and security reviews.
•    Help implement SAST, DAST, SCA tooling into the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) with an emphasis on automation and process integration.
•    Assist teams in reproducing, triaging, and addressing application security vulnerabilities found through internal testing, bug bounty program or penetration tests.
•    Document and update process and procedures related to Application Security.

What you'll bring

•    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Information Security or Computer Science.
•    3+ years of experience as an application security practitioner.
•    Deep knowledge of web/application-layer security and attack vectors. 
•    Familiarity with widely accepted vulnerability frameworks and guidance (CVSS, OWASP, NIST, etc.).
•    Solid project management fundamentals with an ability to prioritize work based on objectives and timeline. 
•    A passion for cyber security 
•    A “can-do”, positive attitude - team player.
•    Familiarity and ability to explain common security flaws and ways to address them.
