About the role

AESC is looking to add a Sr. Process Engineer to our team.  This is a Full-Time, hybrid position, with up to 25% travel to Smyrna/ Murfreesboro, TN, Bowling Green, KY and Florence, SC.

About the Role 

AESC US is looking for an Infrastructure Process Design Engineer focused on water and wastewater utilities. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to designing and evaluating water and waste systems that are integrated with manufacturing processes. Your work within the Global Industrial Development (GID) team will directly impact our strategic goals and contribute to our position as a global leader in battery technology and advanced manufacturing facilities. 


What You Will Do  

  • Collaborate with a team of experts to conceptualize, design, and develop innovative systems for advanced battery manufacturing facilities—creativity and problem-solving skills are crucial. 
  • Utilize extensive design experience and apply engineering fundamentals to review and advise on scope for facilities infrastructure and to validate utilization and diversity factor inputs.  
  • Perform review of detailed design packages to ensure adherence to deliverable requirements, standards, codes, and regulations. 
  • Integrate sustainable and energy-efficient design principles to reduce the environmental impact of our facilities and promote sustainable manufacturing practices. 
  • As the subject matter expert, collaborate with and provide technical expertise to cross-functional teams, including construction, electrical, manufacturing, controls, structural, and architectural engineers, to deliver high-quality water and wastewater systems—you will act as the subject matter expert. 
  • Maintain and update the site water mass balance across multiple projects and facilities, including benchmarking across sites. 

What You Need 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Master’s Degree desired 
  • 5+ years of experience in pure water and/or industrial wastewater treatment 
  • Large-scale manufacturing facility experience, including new or retrofit factories for high-volume and high-tech manufacturing processes 
  • Knowledge of mechanical or chemical engineering principles, water treatment technologies, and controls systems. 
  • Knowledge of design development, process flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), process piping, specifications, and equipment. 
  • Ability to multi-task and to prioritize and schedule workload 
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and aptitude for learning quickly 

What is “Nice to Have”? 

  • Experience in other process systems including compressed air, vacuum, gas generation and distribution, and hazardous gas and chemical distribution is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of domestic water, sanitary waste, and stormwater systems as they contribute to overall site consumption and planning. 
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
