Position Summary

Position is responsible for the production of radiopharmaceuticals for clinical and research purposes and performs quality-control analyses; this includes human/animal radiometabolite studies.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepares radiopharmaceuticals for clinical and research use.
  • Prepares radiochemicals.
  • Performs analytical analyses of final radiopharmaceutical preparations for clinical or research purposes.
  • Performs analysis of radio metabolites for C-11 tracer studies in humans and animals.
  • Helps maintain instruments used for clinical/research radiopharmaceutical production and quality control; troubleshoots as required.
  • Helps prepare sterile reagents used in the production of radiopharmaceuticals; follows all appropriate SOPs for pharmaceutical preparations 100% of the time.
  • Orders necessary supplies and equipment in a timely and cost-efficient manner; checks loading dock for incoming packages and appropriately receives incoming orders.

More About This Job

The PET Radiopharm Technician role is part of the WashU Cyclotron Facility and Nuclear Pharmacy. It is responsible for producing clinical and investigational radiopharmaceuticals using standard operating procedures. This position will undertake several different activities, including maintenance of equipment, ordering of necessary supplies and accepting materials to be used on a daily basis.

Salary Range
