Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to Robert Casey (Fleet Support Lead Engineer), and work alongside exceptional, enthusiastic, and collaborative teammates.
In the context of Next Generation High Speed Trains project, the brand new “ACELA 2021”, ALSTOM is offering a high level of Maintenance Service to AMTRAK operator, under the form of TSSSA contract (Technical Support and Spares Supply Agreement).
Striving to start the commercial service of the brand-new trains in the best conditions, and to ensure the best operational performances of the transportation system every day, Alstom is currently mobilizing a dedicated and experienced team comprising of maintenance, design and validations know-how. This team will be involved and responsible for particular functions throughout manufacturing, validation, commissioning, and stabilized maintenance phases of the project in support of the TSSSA contract.
You'll be creating great value as you use your engineering skills to maximize performance and reliability from a maintenance perspective while working with next generation high speed rail transportation projects.
We’ll look to you for:
- Troubleshoot all trainset systems.
- Provide technical inputs to the whole Maintenance Site organization.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. Equivalent experience on a 1:1 basis may substitute for the degree.
- 2 years’ experience in engineering related field.
- Knowledge of railway systems is highly desired.

Location and Travel
- On-site position based in Boston, MA (Southampton Yard Amtrak facility)
- Initial travel: 25% during the first year, especially to Philadelphia (commissioning site)
- Average travel: 10% time, especially to the other train maintenance facilities of Long Island City, NY and Washington, DC
