Overview:
vineyard vines is seeking a Retail Operations Specialist to support the efficiency and effectiveness of our retail stores by optimizing labor allocation, workload distribution, and operational planning. This role will be responsible for analyzing store workload drivers, aligning labor resources with business needs, and ensuring that operational tasks are executed in a way that maximizes productivity and enhances the customer experience. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, process-driven, and comfortable working cross-functionally with Retail Operations, Finance, and Store Leadership. Additionally, this role will conduct tests to measure the impact of labor investments on sales and operational performance, helping to drive strategic decisions around workforce planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain workload models to determine labor needs across stores based on sales trends, customer traffic, and operational tasks.
- Partner with Finance and Retail Operations leadership to align labor budgets with business goals and seasonal trends.
- Support the development and refinement of store scheduling strategies to ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time.
- Monitor labor utilization and identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Assess in-store operational workload, including shipment processing, floor sets, omnichannel fulfillment, and other non-selling activities, to ensure efficient task execution.
- Partner with Store Leadership to streamline processes and remove inefficiencies that impact productivity.
- Develop playbooks and best practices for balancing operational workload with customer-facing responsibilities.
- Identify technology and system enhancements that could improve workforce planning and execution.
- Design and execute tests to assess how labor investment impacts sales, conversion, and overall store performance.
- Track and analyze results from pilot programs to determine the ROI of labor adjustments.
- Provide recommendations on labor allocation strategies based on data-driven insights.
- Partner with Retail Leadership to implement findings from tests and continuously optimize labor strategies.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to labor productivity, task execution, and payroll efficiency.
- Provide actionable insights to Retail Leadership to support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with Finance and HR to ensure labor and workload planning aligns with overall business strategy.
- Support labor forecasting and planning for peak periods, including holiday and promotional events.
- Act as a liaison between corporate Retail Operations, Finance, and Store Leadership to ensure alignment on workload and labor strategies.
- Provide guidance and training to store teams on workload management best practices.
