Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated university students to learn and contribute to our HDD engineering teams for a Fall Co-Op. A current student pursuing a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and graduating December 2023 and beyond are encouraged to apply. Part of the intent of the Co-op program is to enable transitions to full time positions after completion of the Co-op period.
As a Firmware Co-Op Engineer, you will be part of a team of growth minded problem solvers that are bringing to life world-class performance for our customers. In the offered role, you will work as part of the system engineering and architecture organization to improve, maintain, and develop models describing present and future system behaviors and requirements that underpin a subset of HDD firmware development.
The system nature of the role will require interaction across different disciplines, need for good communication skills, and desire to learn.
Qualifications
- Student currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Physics, or related field and graduating December 2023 and beyond
- Developing technical skills and area of study towards, but not limited to, analog and/or digital electronics, mathematics, dynamic systems modeling
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Proficient in at least one structured programming/scripting language (e.g. C/C++, python, Matlab, etc…)
- Interest in HDD, flash, semiconductor, components, nonvolatile memory industry
