ZF Axle Drives Marysville, LLC has openings for the position of Sr. Buyer - Program based out of its location in Marysville, Michigan.

 

Job Duties:  Responsible to serve as functional expert for all purchasing activities related to a program/project; Purchasing lead for programs or group of parts; Oversee BOM cost; Develop cost-saving methods/opportunities for productivity & supplier competitiveness (e.g., VA/VE methods, quoting, independent negotiations); Support contract & sourcing negotiations; Analyze supplier base & recommend changes to approved supplier list(s); Perform market research & monitor changes/trends for benchmarking & cost controlling; Develop part family strategies in concert with commodity strategies; Oversee supply base in light of company initiatives (e.g., cost, quality, & delivery); Use industry techniques, procedures, & planning methods to investigate suppliers; Track costs & negotiations while maintaining agreements with suppliers; and Explore methods/materials for total cost oversight & cost structure analysis. Position will require up to 30% travel to international and domestic locations. A hybrid (in-office and telecommute) work schedule is available.

 

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field, plus 5 years of experience in professional purchasing occupations (e.g., technical/commodity purchasing, purchasing project management) and demonstrated experience with: Analysis and evaluation of suppliers; Supplier bidding process; Negotiations with suppliers; Component Cost Breakdown Analysis; Tooling Cost Breakdown Analysis; E-procurement; E-Quotation / Quotation Analysis; Project Management; and Project management software. In the alternative, we will accept a Master’s degree in Business, Engineering Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field, plus 3 years of experience in professional purchasing occupations (e.g., technical/commodity purchasing, purchasing project management) and demonstrated experience with: Analysis and evaluation of suppliers; Supplier bidding process; Negotiations with suppliers; Component Cost Breakdown Analysis; Tooling Cost Breakdown Analysis; E-procurement; E-Quotation / Quotation Analysis; Project Management; and Project management software.
