Summary of Job Duties:
The Extra - Help Assistant/ORSP Pre-Award Activities serves as an experienced research administration professional who provides advanced pre-award support for the development, review, and submission of grant and contract proposals. The position independently advises faculty and staff regarding sponsor requirements, proposal development, budget preparation, and institutional compliance requirements. The incumbent is expected to exercise professional judgment and possess extensive experience with federal, state, and other sponsored funding mechanisms.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field;
- Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification;
- Ten years of progressively responsible experience in research administration, including at least two years of direct pre-award experience;
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and submitting proposals to federal, state, foundation, and other sponsoring organizations;
The CRA certification reflects the advanced level of research administration expertise necessary to independently support proposal development and submission activities
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- Experience supporting NSF, NIH, DoD, DOE or other major federal sponsors;
- Experience with Grants.gov, Research.gov, eRA Commons, or other federal sponsor submission systems;
- Experience with Streamlyne;
- Experience with Workday Finance;
- Grant and contract development;
- Grant review and submission experience;
- Experience with federal and state submission portals;
- Advanced knowledge of Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200);
- Experience interpreting funding opportunity announcements and sponsor guidelines;
- Experience developing complex grant proposal budgets and budget justifications;
- Experience with electronic research administration systems and workflow man
