POSITION SUMMARY:
A Senior Engineering Technician performs laboratory testing to ensure products meet safety requirements such as CE Mark, UL, and CSA. Works with Compliance Engineers to understand system requirements and to ensure that the product(s) work in application(s).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute test plans to support certification of New Product Development
- Direct interaction with globally based engineering teams
- Setup test electrical equipment
- Support onsite inspections from certification agencies
- Assist with Internal & External Audits
- Write test reports and maintain compliance related technical documents
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Typically works in a professional lab environment. Interacts with lab and manufacturing personnel
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven ability to methodically solve multi-functional, technical issues completely in a timely manner
- Ability to solve complex technical and interpersonal problems independently
- Technical understanding of products
- Strong communication skills with an ability to interface with internal design teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to execute multiple projects at one time
- Proficiency in the use of basic electrical laboratory tools such as multimeters, oscilloscope, power supplies, Hi-pot
EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
- Greater than 5 years in electrical product development testing environment and/or manufacturing testing environment
Desirable:
- Experience with non SELV working voltages up to several kV
- Experience with UL/IEC/CSA safety standards
EDUCATION:
- Associate’s degree on Electrical Engineering
COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $55,000 to $78,000 per year.
