Job Title: Director, Finance
A little bit about our team:
The Finance department is responsible for accurately reporting the financial position of the company on a monthly and quarterly basis. In addition, the Finance department is responsible for establishing operational controls related to financial activities and preparing the yearly fiscal budget and monthly forecasts for which the company is measured against. Finally, Finance is a partner with all other departments regarding strategic decisions that benefit the company.
Your role:
The Director of Finance works closely with the SVP and CFO Finance and the global finance teams to manage the financials of Homemade Merchandise and Homemade Projects, both of which are a part of the Atlantic Music Group (AMG). As a member of the AMG finance team, you will gain experience working alongside business leaders driving financial performance for both the ecommerce and Tour areas of Merch, as well as helping to manage talent, pod-casters / influencers and digital marketing on the Projects side of the business. You’ll get exposure to driving initiatives to optimize, automate and streamline financial and business reporting and processes. Primary responsibilities include financial and operational analysis and reporting, margin and cost management, and financial deal modelling.
Here you’ll get to:
- Prepare annual budgets and monthly/quarterly/yearly forecasts with commentary on financial results including variance analysis of actuals vs budget and prior forecasts; communication of results to departments heads; and the development of action plans to hit targets where needed
- Manage Merchandise and Projects business’ P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow; responsible for corporate deliverables to ensure the financial and statutory reporting for the various areas of the business.
- Provide analysis and consultation in developing new business opportunities and artist deals; prepare projections, deliver deal analyses and monitor activity to help drive performance
- Create and maintain multifaced financial models to assist in reporting, strategic initiatives and critical decisions
- Partner with business leaders to drive growth and margin improvement initiatives
- Create and streamline cost management structures used for tracking special project initiatives, marketing ventures, vendor costs, T&E and overheard
- Manage merchandise supply chain/distribution cost analytics and inventory management to identify areas for margin improvements and efficiencies
- Design and streamline financial and operational reporting to help better monitor and report business performance
- Oversight of monthly financial close processes and financial accounting procedures managed by shared services accounting teams, implementing technical accounting policies and maintaining control environment/SOX controls
- Proactively develops ad hoc reporting and analytics to provide value added insights to management
- Manage financial controls and risk management procedures; recommend data flow and controls improvement
