Job Overview
The Supervisor of Food Services is responsible for preparing food for patients, staff, visitors and catering events. Ensures that food has been prepared according to master menu, recipe, and following departmental policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepares work schedules, makes sure time sheets are adequate, performs employee performance evaluations, and initiates and disciplinary actions of employees if needed.
- Plans and purchases all food, supplies, beverages, equipment, chemicals, supplements/enteral feeds for the department.
- Maintains required records including food production, inventory, budget expenses, meal counts, and personnel records.
- Ensure all employees are following appropriate safety and sanitation methods in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Department of Health and Human Services and Joint commission standards.
- Develops weekly menus, creates new recipe ideas and new products for our cafeteria and patients to help maximize patient and customer satisfaction.
- Plans the menu for big catering events for our hospital and assists staff in setting up, preparing, serving, and cleaning up these events.
- Attends and contributes to all departmental and hospital meetings as required.
- Completes daily cash reconciliation to be turned into our business office and deposited to the bank.
Qualifications
Required:
- Health Department Food Handler
Preferred:
- High School Diploma/GED
