About our group:
We are the Value Engineering Team. Our charter is to review products in production to find ways to reduce cost or improve reliability for those products. Our activities include BOM cost reduction, product hardening to improve reliability and engineering to analyze changes in the product that will reduce its cost.
About the role - you will:
- We are developing a reliability laboratory to explore the limits of semiconductor and PCB lifetimes.
- The goal of this project is to find out what it will take to extend reliability of Seagate’s products beyond 5 years. This will reduce electronic waste in landfills.
- In order to do this, you will be assigned a mentor already familiar with the processes used in the lab
About you:
- You are comfortable exploring areas of knowledge you have not yet been exposed to.
- You are interested in both hardware and software design
- You are curious to know more about Semiconductor and PCBA reliability
Your experience includes:
- You have had classes in hardware design
- You have some understanding of semiconductor device physics
- You have had classes in programming languages
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or any other related discipline and enrolled in Fall 2024 courses

Actual salary range is based on the regional labor market of the role in the geography in which you live based on the requirements of the job and your skills. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, and Seagate reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
