Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)’ is responsible for driving exceptional product quality, customer value beyond expectations, regulatory assurance and optimized Cost of Quality. This is a key technical position, affecting part quality for both installed base and New Product Introductions parts.
As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for driving quality for assigned suppliers by:
- Improving quality performance via facilitating continuous process improvements at supplier facility including developing a strong QMS mind set at supplier site
- Driving supplier approval through robust onboarding process including first part qualification
- Tracking of key metrics, such as supplier defect rate, OTD, COQ to drive improvement plans
- Leading investigations of major quality issues or technical expediting constraints (Lean, Six Sigma or Shainin systematic to be used whereas applicable)
- Performing surveillance audit according to the planning while providing onsite support to the quality term in case of external supplied components nonconformance
- Developing positive relationships and work closely with Engineering and Sourcing representatives to manage and implement supplier/engineering changes, New Product Introductions, and transfers
- Cooperating with the Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering to contribute to the achievement of business goals (reduce defects rate, enable parts on time delivery technically supporting the fulfillment team)

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelors Degree and relevant experience in quality / manufacturing / vendor development functions.
- Able to manage multiple qualifications and work with global teams to approve/qualify suppliers and improve their performance.
- Able to review documents and parts according to ASTM, PED, IEC, ASME, CE, CSA, UL other international standards & Regulatory Requirements.
- Willing to travel up to 50%
- Have hands on experience in one or more of following fields: Machining process, methods /techniques Castings (investment, sand), forgings and fabrication processes / materials Understanding manufacturing process plan (MPP), interpreting process steps, suitable machines Understanding PFMEA and control plans. Experience in NDT techniques including RT, UT and LPI and knowledge about such testing machines
