Summary
Prepares, assemble baked goods, cooks, seasons and portions food for patients/residents, staff, and visitors of the designated facility, preparing and serving food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements.Job Description
Coordinates production, prepares and serves nutritious, appealing meals to residents following physician’s orders, standards, and regulations, and company policies and procedures. Prepare meals following established recipes. Assists with development of pleasing and unique recipes and menu creation. Maintains continuous quality improvement of meals prepared and served daily. Observes, measures, and documents information as assigned. Receives and shares information; observes and report and residents’ change in condition to appropriate staff. Provides residents with opportunities for independence and choice consistent with their care plans.
Notifies appropriate staff of any problems, uses safe lifting techniques, immediately cleans up spills and messes, demonstrates proper use of chemicals used for cleaning and sanitizing and appropriate use of kitchen equipment and tools, and follows all company policies and procedures. ollows location infection control policies and procedures, OSHA, and CDC guidelines that apply to serving food, assisting residents, and cleaning. Complete all necessary in-person and electronic trainings that are assigned, and attend required department meetings.
This position will be held accountable for complying with all related laws, regulations, company policies and procedures pertaining to his or her position.
Possesses ability to work independently when necessary. Possesses an understanding of food safety and sanitation processes. Exhibits understanding of basic math to appropriately measure alongside displaying proficiency in reading and understanding recipes. Demonstrates ability to be on feet for the majority of the day.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Possesses ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions. Ability to perform basic math. Minimum of six months of applicable experience preferred. On-the-job training will be provided.
Depending upon location of hire, Serv Safe may be required to obtain within a designated time frame. Additional endorsements to Serv Safe may be required depending upon location. Fulfill annual continuing education requirements of the department and facility including departmental meetings, safety education and mandatory in-services. Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending upon location requirements. Depending on location, may be required to drive. Valid Driver's License may be required.
