System Director Rehab Services

The EMRMC/EMHR Director of Rehabilitation/Ephraim McDowell Commonwealth Cancer Operational Liaison is responsible for implementation of the vision, mission, patient care philosophy and values of the organization within defined areas of responsibility as well as establishing and fulfilling department-specific strategic and operational goals and objectives. Accountable to the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer to maintain 24/7 leadership and supervision of designated departments so that safe, quality, cost effective, competent and comprehensive services are provided. Serves as operational liaison to the Ephraim McDowell Commonwealth Cancer Center so that the Center's services and the Associates are aligned with Ephraim McDowell Health and that services are managed in a manner that fulfills quality and strategic outcomes. Assures the implementation of the collaborative interdisciplinary care delivery system within all areas of responsibility. WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS, AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

 

Considerable amount of handling patients and equipment to administer physical therapy modalities and/or procedures. Frequent exposure to physical and mental disabilities, pain, anguish, infectious disease and lesions, grief, and death. Maintenance of quality and quantity of patient care and patient-staff relationships, Associate relations, interdepartmental relations. Maintenance of efficient and effective departmental operation, sometimes inclusive of overtime work. Must be able to communicate with all patients. Must be able to move or position 25 lbs. independently.

 

CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:

Administration, Physicians, Nursing staff, Ancillary Department Directors, patients, patients’ families, and community agencies.

 

EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Familiarity with departmental functions and purpose, hospital plans and hospital objectives.  Knowledge of sound management principles and techniques and ability to carry them out.  Sound knowledge of the principles, theory and application of rehabilitation procedures.

Qualifications

Five years experience in administration and supervision preferred.
