The Senior Director of Alternative Credit will have the opportunity to be a senior leader in the company.  This role will be responsible for developing a comprehensive strategy for serving a near prime customer which includes product design, credit policy development and investor returns.  This person will report to the Chief Capital Officer and become part of the Capital Group.  The role will need to closing partner with our credit organization, data science team and marketing group.  It will be critical for this person to understand our customer and competitive landscape to be able to identify opportunities and propose solutions to better meet the customers’ needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing near prime credit risk strategies for growth
• Partner with Decision Science to define and develop credit models and tools
• Develop strategies that maximize conversion/usage while maintaining credit discipline
• Respond to portfolio and vintage based performance results to improve existing strategies
• Cultivate good working relationships with other business units, particularly Marketing, Operations, and Finance 
• Maintain overall risk and return targets for investors particularly in a changing economic environment.

Requirements

• 10+ years experience in near prime credit role
• Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Engineering, other quantitative major or equivalent experience required;  Master’s degree a plus
• Experience in financial industry, credit risk, card or unsecured lending required; near-prime and sub-prime fintech experience is a plus
• Excellent communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
• Highly independent and self-motivated to forming opinions that are supported by data and experience
• Strong knowledge of modeling tools and techniques and use in strategy
• Ability to understand competitive pressure and economic trends and their business impacts
• High Energy with ability to work in a fast-paced environment

In addition to semi-monthly salary payments, this position is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.  Base salary range $175,000 - $250,000. Yearly incentive bonus target 30% of base salary. This position may also be eligible for long-term cash and/or equity incentives.
