About the role:
Alcon is looking to hire a Sr. Scrum Master for our Digital Health team. The ideal candidate will work hand in hand with our Agile Lead, to ensure delivery of world class of digital health products.

Our Digital Health team is harnessing technology to build a leading portfolio of digital health solutions that will transform the eye care experience for medical professionals to patients and enable improved patient outcomes – from a predictive health care delivery platform harnessing ML and analytics to innovative medical device software.
As Sr. Scrum Master, you are a servant leader who acts as a coach and Senior scrum master for the Family Scrum Masters (FSM). You will ensure the FSM stays on course by facility the release events and processes, and assist the team in delivering value while driving improvement. We are a fast-growing team, which will give you the opportunity to shape our ways of working and culture - think start-up, but inside a global leader in eye care.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the flow of value for the family using tools like Program Kanban.
- Work with Family Product Owner, Product Owners, Tech Leads, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.
- Establish and communicate calendars for iterations and program increments.
- Facilities quarterly planning, quarterly planning readiness, Scrum of Scrums, Systems demos, System Demo readiness, and other relevant Family level Sync and assist with PO sync meetings as needed to help the Family manage work.
- Synthesizes, track, and communicate quarterly objectives, risks, dependencies, and key milestones with all stakeholders.
- Help manage risks and cross-team dependencies, escalate and track impediments.
- Assist tracking execution of features and drive metrics that help the Family make data decision.
- Lead process improvement opportunities resulting from workshops (e.g. Inspect & Adapt workshop)
- Participate in quarterly planning – communicate vision, roadmap, and prioritized features.
- Coach team on agile mindset, ways of working and culture on continuous improvement.

Competency Profile
- Strong familiarity with Family’s product and domain focus (e.g., Insurance, Finance)
- Proficient in various Agile methodologies (i.e., Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban, etc.) and coaching teams on them.
- Deep understanding of how to effectively scale Agile (ideally scaling Agile practices within the Family’s domain).
- Strong facilitation and listening skills to present to leadership team.
- Builds trust and rapport with team members, creating a comfortable and effective work environment.
- Willing to challenge the status quo and take appropriate risks.
- Assertive, with the confidence to be voice of authority by doing what is best for the team.
- Experienced in assessing team's performance and driving necessary actions to improve.
- Skilled in developing and fostering teamwork to facilitate team dynamics and a positive team culture.
Language
Ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with Agile and Scrum
- Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP) or Certified Team Coach (CTC)
- MedTech, clinical, and/or surgical knowledge and enthusiasm is a plus
- Experience working in SaaS or a fast-paced environment
