The Release Engineering and Change Management (RCM) department is responsible for making features available to customers in a way that is safe, controlled, repeatable, scalable, and predictable. The 'Release Engineer' role is within the Release Engineering and Change Management (RCM) department in Core Platform Services in Wealth Management Technology.

Position Overview:

The 'Release Engineer' role is a highly visible and critical role, which will be leveraged for managing the Release and Change aspects of SDLC. This person will be responsible for releases from end to end and performing change management on all changes going into production, while ensuring policy compliance and proper risk assessment. The right candidate will have a keen focus on managing risk associated with changes in a dynamic environment. This candidate will understand the managed release environment, and ability to collaborate with globally dispersed teams. This candidate will have a deep understanding of branching strategies, CICD pipeline management, Code build management and versioning, and deployment methodologies.

What You will do in the role:

  • Collaborate with a 24/7 team of Release and Change Engineers across multiple locations and regions, partnering with Application Development, Technology Delivery Management, and other areas.
  • Manage key aspects of releases and changes throughout their life cycle, including production fixes, BAU, mandatory projects, and large technology change events.
  • Ensure proper monitoring, management reporting, and governance to support delivery efforts.
  • Perform deployment analysis and schedule deployment tasks, creating consolidated implementation plans for approved and aligned changes.
  • Analyze risks associated with change events and determine mitigation plans for successful delivery.
  • Provide oversight and support for all Change Execution Activities, ensuring changes remain on track and are delivered on time.
  • Manage communication around each change event and provide metrics and status reporting before, during, and after change windows.
  • Handle issues and risks during change windows, escalating to the right stakeholders as needed.
  • Schedule and manage RFB Checkouts in alignment with Change Risk Assessment, transitioning the environment to ASG via formalized handshake post-change event.
  • Perform post-release evaluations and retrospectives to address issues, ensure closure of action items, and communicate findings through comprehensive reporting.


What You will bring to the role:

  • Proficient in fostering agreement and driving solutions through effective negotiation and persuasion
  • Experience creating executive presentation and summary documents and presenting to senior executives.
  • Experience communicating with all levels of the organization, including internal and external audit teams and risk teams.
  • Proven ability to act and deliver under pressure, and drive multiple programs simultaneously, switching priorities, as necessary.Understanding of the Information technology risk landscape in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
