A bit about the role

AB56 Futures is here to offer caring, tailored support to families in Moray with children under the age of 5. Our service is a Tier 2, family support service, designed to gently bridge the gap between everyday support and more formal services, helping families get the help they need, when they need it, without having to turn to Social Work.

We work alongside families in their own homes and communities, helping them recognise their strengths, understand their needs, and find positive, practical ways forward. At the heart of everything we do is a focus on emotional, physical, and social wellbeing.

Above all, we believe in keeping children safe and in making sure families are always at the centre of the decisions that affect them.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

Some key responsibilities of the Family Support Practitioner role are;

  • Undertaking an assessment of need and identifying strengths with each family and reviewing progress against planned outcomes.
  • Planning and delivering parenting and family support interventions.
  • Engaging with families at their pace to support and enable change and practising in a non-judgemental way.
  • Liaising with other agencies and professionals and working in partnership to meet families needs.
  • Advocating and upholding the rights of children and families.
  • Working closely with Employability colleagues to support parents into training or into the labour market.

Let's talk about you

  • SVQ 3 in social care or equivalent.
  • Experience of facilitating 1-1 and group sessions with people facing multiple barriers.
  • The flexibility to work across Moray, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Experience of working with parents and an excellent understanding of the issues/concerns affecting families
