About the role
We are hiring for a Fair Lending Officer on our Compliance team. As our Fair Lending Officer, you will help the fairness of our credit, lending, and liquidity products by scaling our fairness program. You will be the primary contact for internal teams who make decisions that may implicate fairness regulations. Additionally, you will also be responsible for helping with product development for our lending products.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $130,050 and up to $180,600. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
- Serve as Chime’s subject matter expert in Fair Lending laws and regulation, as well as UDAAP, for Chime’s Lending and Liquidity Products.
- Manage Fair Lending compliance efforts throughout Chime and ensure that Chime’s Fair Lending program is risk-based and appropriate for the size and complexity of our programs.
- Complete periodic Fair Lending and Fair Access reviews, including ongoing comparative file reviews, marketing analysis, quality of assistance, exceptions, and redlining reviews, ensure appropriate remediation occurs, and maintain adequate work papers to support findings.
- Act as our single point of contact for banking partners for all things fair access and lending.
- Work with model development to analysis models for disparate treatment and impact; UDAAP; financial health; and debt lifecycles.Provide regulatory advisory for our Lending Product teams and credit risk model developers.
To thrive in this role, you have
- 8+ years of financial institutions consumer compliance experience, including specific experience in Fair Lending and managing Fair Lending regulatory examinations; in the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, UDAAP, Truth in Lending, and Fair Credit Reporting Act and other laws and regulations related to fair and responsible bankingSignificant experience performing Fair Lending risk assessments, comparative file reviews, redlining analysis, and other monitoring activities.
- Excellent communicator across different audiences with the ability to adjust communication style as appropriate; ability to simplify complex topics and distill information down to essential points for a non-technical audience
- Strong organization, analytical, and planning skills; ability work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects toward completion without compromising quality
- Strong ability to work with business partners to ensure alignment and positively impact change
- Bachelor's degree.
- Preferred: Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) preferred or experience as a federal bank examiner with a focus on consumer compliance; Experience with Fair Lending Whiz or WK suite of tools.
