Senior Associate
Purpose Venture GroupAbout the role
Who we are:
We are a team of committed and impassioned people looking to change the world. Purpose Venture Group is a bootstrapped, founder-led business that has grown quickly since our establishment in 2020, PVG is well-positioned to partner with greater numbers of purpose-driven entrepreneurs and established companies seeking to meet or enable net-zero and other social impact commitments.
What we need:
Purpose Venture Group is expanding the strategic finance team and looking for someone to join our team as a Senior Associate. We are seeking a Senior Associate with the ability to help identify compelling clients with which to work and develop innovative solutions to their finance-oriented challenges.
The Senior Associate will jump right into client deliverables, assist with generating new business for the firm and contribute to the thriving, inclusive and collaborative culture that makes PVG special. This is a visible, externally facing role and the candidate needs to be comfortable engaging with clients in a professional and respectful manner.
The current market environment makes fundraising and capital deployment existential for growing organizations. PVG understands what investors are looking to see — sustainable and profitable growth. Our approach is honed from decades of experience working with leading private equity and venture capital firms. We assess a client’s unit economics, operating model, capital structure and cash flow compared to their strategic ambition. We translate our assessment into a compelling financial narrative, vision and roadmap for effective capital deployment – preserving cash and extending runway.
PVG’s clients have raised hundreds of millions and achieved successful exits with our help in preparing for these rounds.
As Senior Associate covering finance and strategy, you will have a broad range of responsibilities working across Purpose Venture Group clients and initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Operational Financial Modeling: We believe understanding the unit economics of products and the financial health of organizations that build those products is a critical step in solving the problems that we want to address. You will coordinate with company leadership and management to build FP&A financial models and investor models that accurately capture the financial aspects of operating budgets, core and ancillary business lines and product development, enabling planning and decision making including internal investment decisions.
- Capital Strategy and Structured Finance: Our work assists organizations in developing optimal strategies for funding their growth and continued operations, and success or failure here often means success or failure of the organization as a whole. The need for creative capital strategies is particularly acute in our climate infrastructure work. Your work in this area will span from compiling strategic plans for equity and non-dilutive capital raises to advising on the development of organizational structures to accomplish these strategies.
- Research, Data Analytics and Visualization: We believe that the best practical solutions come not from a priori thinking but by applying creativity to existing data and frameworks. You will synthesize and distill quantitative as well as qualitative information from a broad array of sources into actionable insights. You will conduct TAM/SAM analyzes to support GTM strategy and conduct valuation analyses driven by market data on comps and precedent transaction analysis.
