WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Ingestion team is responsible for ingesting and processing our customers’ data at a massive scale—millions of requests per minute for billions of monthly active users! We guarantee our customers’ data is securely ingested, up to date, and available to power Braze’s most exciting features.

• Responsibilities:
  • Guide projects end-to-end, with autonomy to make and implement critical decisions which balance technical excellence and business value
  • Improve our best-in-class data ingestion pipeline, which operates at incredible scale
  • Optimize performance, cost, and customer experience
  • Own a complex backend system built to handle huge volumes of data
  • Push the boundaries on other innovative ways to get data into Braze
  • Delight customers by eliminating sources of data related friction
  • Improve our technical bar through code review, design discussions, and other interactions

WHO YOU ARE

• You have 5+ years of back-end-leaning full-stack development experience.
• You are a self-starter. You take initiative, unblock yourself, and work proactively.
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You enjoy communicating complex ideas succinctly and expect the same from others.
• You are obsessed with distributed systems, performance, and scale.
• You write clean, performant, easily maintained code, and produce patterns others leverage.
• You are enthusiastic about customer experience and business impact. Yet, you understand the balance between quality and speed.
• You are passionate about your beliefs on designing and implementing systems (from architecting high-level architecture to writing code), but are open to changing them.

Bonus:

• You have professional experience with one of the listed: Ruby, Ruby on Rails, React, Sidekiq, Redis, MongoDB, microservices architecture
• You have experience guiding complex projects with cross-functional stakeholders
• You have experience with agile processes

For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $170,000 and $211,600/year with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $180,000 and $230,000/year (including bonus or commission). Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to cash compensation, Braze offers full- and part- time employees a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock (RSUs) so that all Braze employees own a piece of our company.
