What You’ll Do

SimpliSafe is looking for a top-notch Staff Software Engineer to join our Data Engineering Team. 

(All candidates should be at a commutable distance from our Boston office.)

The Data Engineering Team is building SimpliSafe’s Analytics Platform that aggregates data from multiple sources and provides analysts and data scientists tools to analyze data and run models.

In this role, you and your team will own your solutions from their inception through production, including design, implementation, deployment, monitoring and support. You will work with external companies, internal engineering teams, analysts and data scientists to understand their needs and deliver the most efficient solutions. What You’ll Bring

• Experience with AWS or another cloud environment
• Experience with AWS CDK or other Infrastructure as Code technologies
• Experience with Python or readiness to learn and use it as your main language
• Experience with the common network protocols such as HTTPS, SFTP
• Experience with optimizing SQL for Athena, Snowflake, BigQuery or any relational database
• Experience in taking a feature through all stages of the development process from idea to deployment, monitoring and support
• Experience in designing scalable products
• Experience in designing secure products
• Experience in interacting with product owners and users of the products that you or your team delivered
• A true team player who is always ready to help the team and the users
• Ability to learn much and fast
• Practitioner of lean or agile software development principles and practices, understanding and advocating the importance of test automation, continuous delivery, continuous improvement, and value delivery.

Ideally you have:

• Experience in any ETL technologies such as Dagster
• Experience with managing and using Tableau or other data visualization and reporting products
• ML Ops experience
