Manager, Recorded Administration
Nashville, Tennessee
Your primary mission is to ensure that our artists, license holders, and other clients receive accurate accounting and the highest level of customer service. You will serve as a key contact internally for any royalty-related inquiries or functions, collaborating with our label's A&R, Finance, Processing, and Royalty Services teams. Your approach to handling these responsibilities should focus on creating solutions and resolving issues.
What You’ll Be Doing.
- Setting up and maintaining contractual royalty pay-out structures in our artist and mechanical royalty systems
- Reconciling cash receipts and received statements for Recorded Royalties
- Processing letters of direction and updating client tax/banking information
- Supporting the reporting processes around key distribution dates and stakeholders’ requests
- Clearing sales, product and rate calculation errors
- Working closely with key departments at BMG including: legal, finance, income tracking & processing teams
- Servicing the inquiries and requests from internal and external stakeholders and business partners
- Handling various ad-hoc projects as the needs and complexity of the business grows
Must Haves.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, preferably in Music Business, Accounting or Finance
- Experience in a music rights administration or related accounting role
- Background in reading and interpreting contracts, especially related to royalty provisions
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and the ability to utilize intermediate-to-advanced Excel functions, including: PivotTables, LOOKUPs, & other analytical functions
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal & written
It’s a plus if you also have experience with: royalty applications, SAP, Python, SQL, and/or Looker.
Pay Range
$52,000 - $57,000 per annum
The pay range listed above is dependent upon factors such as work experience, qualifications and business needs. In addition to the range above, this role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and applicable benefits.
