Job Description
Our Nanolab Advanced Microscopy team consists of highly skilled and experienced scientists, engineers, and analysts that provide industry leading techniques to help clients solve their problems. Our clients include leading edge tech companies in a diverse range of industries and business sectors who design, manufacture or incorporate electronics for tomorrow’s technology driven world. With a state-of-the-art, purpose designed laboratory equipped with leading edge microscopy and analytical tools, that provide ultra-high spatial resolution, we offer the finest knowledge based analytical solutions available today.
Nanolab (a Eurofins company), has a great opportunity for a skilled Senior Materials Analyst to join our TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) group. Primary function would be TEM/STEM imaging of client samples by using JEOL and FEI electron microscopes. The successful candidate will work as part of a team and be expected to rapidly gain a working knowledge of many analytical techniques.
Work Schedule: 5pm-4am, Fridays to Mondays (x4days/10hrs)
Responsibilities:
- Work on transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) with an understanding of electron microscopy, semiconductor device physics and failure analysis.
- Perform Bright Field/Dark Field imaging using TEM/STEM, interpreting data for customers.
- Advise customers regarding nanotechnology technical research and development issues through on-site analysis and discussions.
- Create summary reports to capture the project objectives, analysis data and interpretation of the results.
- Coordinate workflow with other team leads and collaborate to provide total solutions to our customers.
- Partner with vendors to understand tool performance and develop new techniques to improve throughput; perform basic tool maintenance and calibration.
- Train junior technicians on TEM imaging.
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering or related field or equivalent industrial experience
- 3-5 yrs experience in TEM operation
- Solid understanding of electron microscopy, semiconductor device physics and failure analysis
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours).
- Ability to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead.
- Ability to communicate clearly and understandably ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting.
