About this role:
Participate as a member of Advanced Tools Development (ATD) team supporting BSC CRM Product development as an Electro-Mechanical Technician. Utilize a variety of new and proven technologies to deliver life-changing therapies/systems to patients and clinicians in support of BSC’s mission. The position includes a variety of engineering technology workstreams and new product development opportunities. Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification of mechanical and/or electromechanical materials, devices, assemblies, subassemblies, systems and products.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performs a variety of duties in the electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical areas.
- Builds or assembles prototype materials,cables, components, subassemblies and assemblies.
- Constructs, operates, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, maintains and tests equipment, systems or products.
- Collaborates with Firmware Engineering team to upgrade FW on test station equipment and perform basic troubleshooting.
- Experience with PCB troubleshooting and repair, including soldering and component replacement
- Works from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
- Performs tests, analyzes data and writes reports.
- Reviews or develops processing or external manufacturing instructions.
- Maintains detailed documentation through all phases of development, testing and analysis.
- May assist in the transfer of technology and/or contribute in cross-functional discussions
Required qualifications:
- Associate’s degree and/or Certificate in Electronics with 3+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education/work experience
Prefer qualifications:
- Experience with instrumentation development and testing
- Experience with scripting
- Experience with Electronic Medical Equipment (EME)
- Experience in working with contract manufacturers and/or material suppliers
- Basic programming skills (C/C++, Python)
- Hands-on mentality for solving problems
- Familiarity with organized/ob
