Job Description Summary:

The Architectural & Engineering Computer Aided Design (CAD) Faculty supports learning on campus, all distance learning modalities. This Faculty role will be transferring knowledge from either architectural, engineering and/or construction drafting and detailing environments.

Faculty teaches introductory and advanced architectural graphics, modeling, drafting, detailing and technology courses. Responsible to prepare and deliver coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to student success and creating an environment that promotes belonging for all. This position starts in January 2026.

Job Description:

Austin Community College's Architectural & Engineering CAD program is to provide technologically advanced workforce education and training leading to certificates and degrees in the fields of technical graphics and CAD to students on campus, online and within high school programs across Central Texas. The program is committed to achieving student performance that meets or exceeds the entry-level requirements of the design, manufacturing, and construction industries of the ACC service area.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare and teach courses in the field of Building Information Modeling (BIM) & CAD to a multicultural student population based on the department's approved course learning outcomes, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to the needs of community college students and the standards of the discipline.

  • Participate actively in departmental responsibilities and departmental governance, including curriculum review and revision, program review, assessment of student learning outcomes at the course and program level, and other departmental activities.

  • Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.

  • Serve as a mentor to students in the Building Information Modeling (BIM) & CAD program.

  • Provide teaching and mentoring services to students in a manner which does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, protected veteran status, political affiliation, or other protected categories.
