Job Description
HII- Mission Technologies is looking for a Facilities Security Officer in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the administration and coordination of the DOD, DOE, or other industrial security programs and activities to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures.
- Develops and administers security programs and procedures for classified or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment in coordination with government agencies and management personnel.
- Administers Closed and Restricted Areas.
- Reviews and implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations.
- Obtains rulings, approvals, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies.
- Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitor access to restricted records and materials.
- Prepares and conducts security education classes and security audits.
- Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken.
- Performs status checks on current investigations, determining upcoming reinvestigation dates, and relaying that information back to each employee.
- Conducts security self-inspections, physical security surveys, and threat/vulnerability assessments.
- Ensures maintenance of the security clearance data base and document control using the Access Commander database.
- Interfaces with government customers on security related issues.
- Ensures that classified information entrusted to the company is properly safeguarded as outlined in federal controlling instructions.
- Responsible for preparation, management and interfacing with the Defense Security Service during audits.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
- Experience administering and coordinating security programs for classified or proprietary information, materials, and equipment.
- Proven ability to develop and implement security procedures for restricted areas, access control, and document handling.
- Strong analytical skills for reviewing and interpreting security regulations, identifying compliance gaps, and obtaining clarification from government agencies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills to collaborate with government agencies, company management, and personnel.
- Proficiency in writing security manuals and training materials.
- Experience conducting security education and awareness training programs.
- Ability to investigate security violations, prepare reports, and recommend preventative actions.
- Experience conducting security self-inspections, physical security surveys, and threat/vulnerability assessments.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy for maintaining security clearance databases and document control systems (e.g., Access Commander).
- Clearance- Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance with the ability to get a TS/SCI
