The City of Peoria is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join the team as a Recreation Programmer at the Rio Vista Recreation Center. This role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of a wide range of recreational programs, activities, and special events held at the recreation center, parks, schools, and other community locations. Additional responsibilities may include completing other related tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in organizing, promoting, and implementing recreational programs in specialized areas such as special events, senior services, instructional classes, professional sports, adaptive recreation, adult and youth sports, aquatics, preschool, youth and teen programs, and cultural activities.
- Support the development and execution of marketing strategies by preparing materials such as manuals, announcements, press releases, flyers, pamphlets, and brochures.
- Conduct on-site program inspections and evaluations to ensure adherence to safety standards and program policies.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting patrons, participants, and community members with information about recreation programs, policies, and services.
- The ideal candidate will:
- Possess strong customer service and communication skills.
- Maintain a positive, friendly attitude and effectively plan and coordinate recreational activities.
- Have experience overseeing daily facility operations, including setup and organization.
- Be comfortable enforcing rules and regulations while ensuring the safety and security of the Rio Vista Recreation Center.

QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Two-year college program or equivalent combinations resulting in accumulation of similar knowledge or skills
Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in the same or similar previous position.
