About the role

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Facilities Technician with a strong background in plumbing to join our maintenance team. This role involves performing a variety of plumbing and general facilities maintenance tasks to ensure our building systems operate efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

Plumbing Duties:

  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing systems.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing issues including leaks, clogs, and water pressure problems.
  • Maintain and service water heaters, boilers, and backflow preventers.
  • Conduct inspections to identify potential plumbing hazards or failures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and building codes related to plumbing systems.

General Facilities Maintenance:

  • Perform basic electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting tasks as needed.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of facility infrastructure, including walls, ceilings, floors, and doors.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance service requests and work orders.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment.
  • Assist in emergency repairs and on-call support during off-hours (as needed).

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or certification in plumbing preferred.
  • 3+ years of plumbing experience in a commercial or facilities environment.
  • Familiarity with local plumbing codes and safety regulations.
  • Ability to use plumbing tools, pipe threaders, soldering equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and general building systems is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.

Certifications Preferred or Required:

  • Valid Plumbing License (preferred).
  • NITC and ASSE Certifications (preferred)
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification (preferred)
  • Backflow Prevention Certification (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).

Working Conditions:

  • Indoor and outdoor work environments.
  • May require working in confined spaces or at heights.
