Facilities Manager (Temporary – Long-Term Cover)

Goddard Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced and proactive Facilities Manager to provide long-term cover within a specialist school in Leeds, working 37 hours per week, all year round. This is a varied, hands-on role with responsibility for premises, facilities and Health & Safety across the school sites.

Key Responsibilities

* Overseeing the day-to-day management of school premises and facilities

* Managing statutory Health & Safety compliance, inspections and records

* Coordinating planned preventative maintenance, repairs and general building works

* Managing fire safety, security, cleaning and grounds maintenance

* Managing and monitoring external contractors and maintenance works

* Overseeing premises budgets and school vehicles

* Managing and supporting caretaking staff

* Responding to urgent site and maintenance issues

* Ensuring school sites remain safe, secure and well maintained

Candidate Requirements

* Strong facilities, premises or site management experience

* Good practical maintenance and building knowledge

* Sound understanding of Health & Safety and statutory compliance

* Experience managing contractors and maintenance works

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload

* Confident working independently and taking responsibility for urgent site issues

* Previous experience within a school or education setting would be advantageous

Safeguarding and DBS Requirements

* All applicants must hold a current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service

* This role involves working within a school environment and contact with children
