AAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Mobile, Alabama that is an international pioneer in the aerospace industry. They are a leader in designing, manufacturing and delivering aerospace products, services and solutions to customers on a global scale. A commercial aircraft manufacturer, with Space and Defense as well as Helicopters Divisions, they are the largest aeronautics and space company in Europe and a worldwide leader. We are looking for an Facilities Maintenance Technician who is seeking their next opportunity in a complex and ever-changing work environment!
Job Description:
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.
- Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture
- Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
- Uses drywall 'mud', plaster/compound and spackle to patch minor holes/cracks in walls and ceilings.
- Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested.
- Reconfigures, installs, and adjusts office modular furniture and work spaces.
- Plans repair work using the building's blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
- Performs routine maintenance on building infrastructure and/or building systems.
- Troubleshoots issues to resolve vital repairs.
- Inspects/repairs damaged interior infrastructure surfaces as needed.
- Performs general maintenance on doors, door closers, and related equipment as assigned.
- Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Proactively inspects and identifies areas in need of repair.
- General locksmith repairs and key control
- Responds to work requests in a timely manner
- Adherence to all health and safety precautions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED plus 3 + years general maintenance experience required.
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to assist with office moves that require breaking down, moving and reassembly of furniture.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to set up and take down ladders and use fall protection as required by job tasks.
- Maintains the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces, assists others as part of the maintenance team as required and performs other duties assigned according to personal qualifications.
- Establish, maintain, and develop positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
